I was born on September 17, 1994, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I am 15 years old. I stopped going to school in first grade. I missed several years of school because my parents have no way to pay for me. I have two brothers and one sister.

Jobson and I have the same father and the others have the same father.
My father is Leonard Cadet. I do not know how old he is. My mother is Lorette Joassaint. She is 36 years old. I am living with my mom and my dad. I have no other relatives living near by me.

Work

My dad is a fisher. He fishes to make a living. Sometimes when he is going to fish, he catches nothing. When he finds something, he sells the fish by the side of the sea or he goes down town to sell fish. He can earn $20 - 30 or 40 ht [$2.85 - $5.70 US] sometimes. Otherwise he gets nothing. My mother used to sell fish but now she is doing nothing to make a living.

Education

I cannot go to school because my parents have no possibility to send me. I cannot continue. I imagine a person who has no education, his life will be difficult like mine. That is why I would like to continue with my studies and become a person useful in my country.

Food and Nutrition

My parents have no way to make a good cooking. I eat a time one time a day. In my situation, we have no choice. I eat everything I find and when there is nothing to eat, I go to sleep without having something to eat.

Shelter and Clothes

The house I am living it is does not belong to my parents. They rent it $50 ht [$7.14 US] per month. The house has one room. It is too small.
The problem is that it leaks. We can feel okay when it is not raining. When it is raining we do not know what to do. I cannot sleep because it is wet.
There are rats, mice, mosquitoes, no bugs. There is no electricity. We use candle every night, but we often don’t have money to buy it. Sometime we sleep in the darkness.

Health and Medical

Health is important. My family is unhealthy. My father always has fever, headache. My mother has headache, stomachache, skin infection, without forgetting my brothers. Me I have always headache, fever.
When we are sick we buy medicines in the street without advice.

Personal qualities and Dreams

Me to describe my self there is a lot of things I can say. I am honest, serious, not shy. I do not like to argue with friends. I am a person who likes to give advice. I like to laugh. I like to anger, but not often, only if someone rubs me. I like to watch television, I love cartoons. I like when I jump rope. I love amarelle game.
My favorite color is blue. I love animals like cow, cat, and dog. I love to tell history and the truth. People mention that I am dancing and singing well. I have my anger. I want to change it and become generous. I get my feeling when I am dancing.
Dreams
In my life the most important thing is my education, my health and my future. I see my parents in misery because they have no education and profession. And me, I do not want to be like them. I would like to become a famous person, a doctor. To reach my dream I hope to find a partner and someone to help me. To take care of me and make me continue my studies - that would be for me a wonderful thing and a great step in my life for my family and also my country.
