Last night it was raining a lot in Port-au-Prince. Most Haitians stood up the whole time, waiting for the rains to stop to go to sleep. But they could not sleep because the land was wet. I have talked to some of them this morning and they said that "last night was a terrible night." Now all of them are looking for tents, but they are not easy to find, as the organizations in charge don't have enough tents to share so each family gets one. The situation becomes more complicate for the people.
I would like to let some of our abroad partners know that all our Haitian partners are alive. For the few of you that haven't heard yet directly from your partners, you don't need to worry: the reason is that some have gone to the countryside temporarily with their parents. We are figuring out exactly who has left, and when they will return, and we will let you know soon all details about this.
By the way, I would like to talk a little bit about myself. One day before the earthquake I have been paid some of the money for my rent which was $1000 US, and the day after paying, the house is cracked in the earthquake and my family is living on the streets (my wife and daughter). We stayed on the street at Delmas 56 for one week and a half. After those days I moved them to the countryside where they are living temporarily. They are living 250 miles away from Port au Prince. That means I cannot take care of them propery since they are living far from me. I have to bring them back to Port-au-Prince. I am trying to save money to rent another house for my family, and until that happens it is difficult and sad for me and my family is suffering, and that make me uncomfortable. But I am working full time in helping other people in PINP.
Please this is the first news that I have put to my newsblog since the earthquake happened. I am sure that now I will send my news here every week.
Sincerely,
Cajuste
