During my trip, I met a man named D.F.Jean Bossard, who is a Haitian. He had been a student and is now a teacher.
Bossard explained that “Most Haitians who come to the D.R work in construction and batey; they don’t have a passport, and they entered through the forests.Some of them come to work for three months and earn some money, and get back to Haiti by the same route that they took when they came. Most of them are from the villages of Haiti. During their trip back to Haiti if Dominican people meet them they often take anything they bring with them, like money, clothes, and roosters, etc.
