Children in extreme poverty

These children are living in slums in the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince. Most live in shelters made of pieces of corrugated metal, with dirt floors, and untreated water – and all in extreme poverty.

Extreme poverty is defined as living on less than a dollar a day, with little or no access to basic services such as clean water, sufficient food, health care, or education. Our programs focus on long-term development, especially on going to school and attending our mini-center. Food, clothing and shelter are not addressed directly in this plan, but options for additional help are available. Cost: $18 per month. More about our programs.

testimonials

"Oh my god you guys...what a wonderful, wonderful organization. I previously sponsored a child in Uganda, and after 2 years of hearing nothing from the internationally known organization, I got a letter from them telling me that his family had moved, he was no longer eligible for sponsorship, and here was my new child. I literally, to this day, wonder what happened to both him and the money I sent to help." Jo-Ann
