A few notes on the dismissal of Prime Minister Michèle Pierre-Louis By Michael Deibert

"Another chapter in the disregard for honesty and transparency that
infuses the marrow of Haiti’s political class was written last week
with the ouster of Haitian Prime Minister Michèle Pierre-Louis..."

Elliot Kriegsman .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) writes:

I don't always agree with Michael Deibert's opinions but in this case, I'm glad
he said what needed to be said about this latest debacle.

I had the pleasure of meeting - albeit briefly - Mme. Prime Minister during the recent Haitian Diaspora Congress whose theme was unity. I'm alarmed that all
the hard work, negotiation, sacrifice, dedication, accomplishment, and positive thinking on Haiti's behalf since that Congress has been threatened by a small group of elites too greedy to challenge their control of the status quo.

The kinetic sculptor, Rube Goldberg, once created a work of whimsical genius called "Progress", an enormous contraption in which a shiney, metal ball would work its way up from the bottom of a great pyramid. Nearing the top, however,
it would repeatedly plumet only to start again and again.

He should have named it "Haiti".   Â
