Let's read it with an open mind and understand specifically that there are reasons behind every thought. It is important to analyze a situation in its right context. There are always pros and cons, a negative side and a positive side. Our situation calls for a balanced view of the problems addressed so that the solutions
sought are not obstructed by our own limitations. You would recall that I have requested to get the facts right before blasting the evicted PM. This article shows the lingering obstacles of governance in Haiti, the main stumbling block
of our development. The stakeholders are at all levels including at the level of those whom, out of ignorance or lack of information, knowingly or unknowingly take stands that are unfavourable to peace and development. The issue is how do we debug this culture of mediocrity, selfishness and greediness which affects our society,
a new school of thought is needed, a new type of response is needed, a new cultural and political revolution is also needed. By this revolution, I do not mean the type where we are simply saying that we are capable and long live our sovereign nation, it is one by which we recognize our past failures and take appropriate actions to overturn longstanding management and corruption
practices, therefore a complete reinvention of government through planning, organizing etc...should be in order. It would take some iron hands to succeed in this reinventing task, and unless we accomplish that whatever our pride discourses may be, we will go nowhere. I would ask you to take notice that Deibert refers to the UN Peacekeeping mission as a mission. Does that mean
that both Deibert and I are pro-occupation for using the correct term. Those
who have an exposure in the science of computers know that if your inputs are incorrect, your outputs will also be
wrong. Perhaps, our main concern should be the correctness of our inputs.Emmanuelle Gilles
